Reg Sherburne started working for his parents, Doug & Cynthia Sherburne, when he was in High School when they purchased Bradstreet Fuel Co. in 1961. In 1974, Reg and wife Eileen decided to branch out into another area by taking on a line of outdoor power equipment from Wheelhorse Tractors. Business was first done from their garage at home until space was built at 30 Industrial Plaza.
As business grew they took on more lines of equipment. They now sell Toro/Wheelhorse, Husqvarna, Echo, BCS, Billygoat, and a line of Yamaha and Husqvarna generators. Business was conducted at 30 Industrial Plaza until 1994 when they moved the business to 600 Wilson Street.
As business continued to grow, they became too crowded at that location and decided to build on to their property at 30 Industrial Plaza in the East/West Industrial Park in Brewer where they now have a new 40’ x 70’ showroom and a large new service area for repair. Son Mike also started working at the company when he was in high school in 1990 and continues to help run the business. The fuel business was sold in 2001 and the name was officially changed to Bradstreet Lawn & Garden.
